My awesome, beautiful mother, before cancer.
.
.
Dear Friend,
I am writing to you today to share with you the story of my assistant
and Preparator for Wayne State University’s art galleries, Tom
Pyrzewski. Many of you have heard me comment on how very lucky I am to
have Tom at the galleries. And you may have also heard me mention that
he is an outstanding young sculptor, on his way to being shown and
collected throughout the region.
Tom’s mother Mary Beth Guyor Pyrzewski, was diagnosed with cancer about
two years ago, and her very aggressive cancer has rapidly deteriorated
her condition. In the past few months, Tom’s priority has been his
mother, and this now includes a focus on raising funds for expenses
related to her care and for future arrangements.
While this is all a bit awkward, Tom has agreed to have me share the
difficulty of his circumstances with you, so that I might assist him in
the sale of his artwork to raise the funds of which is he now in
desperate need.
Please go to www.blog.superiorbelly.com to view images of Tom’s
amazing work, and to consider purchasing work at his very reasonable prices.
These works are powerful, have a great sense of movement,
beautiful compositions and rich patinas. Viewers are
enthralled by these strong but elegant constructions, made from found
materials and house paint (although no one ever seems to be able to
identify the media!) The works exude a maturity and confidence, and a
sense of struggle toward survival.
If you are interested in purchasing a sculpture by Thomas Pyrzewski
(BFA, CCS; MFA, Wayne State University), please contact him directly at
tom@superiorbelly.com.
Thank you so very much, in advance, for your kind consideration.
Lisa (Baylis Gonzalez)
